Update on my "Mountain Steps" progress:
I've completed ascents of all five sets of stairs - a total of 1,568 steps.  I also climbed the Margate steps as a little bonus, bringing my total to 1,948 steps climbed, along with my accumulated walking distance!

From September 1 to 30, my teammates and I are walking 100 km in support of Habitat for Humanity.  That’s right.  The Sole Sistas have reunited for a third straight year!  I am joined by my good friend and CSAE colleague Saskia Martini-Wong (the RAHB Walkathon was actually Saskia’s amazing brainchild), along with RAHB colleagues Carolyn Infurnari and Maggie Inglis.  Together, we hope to surpass our 2022 walking and fundraising goals. 

Last year, with the help of our many kind donors, the Sole Sistas crushed it, bringing in $4,400.  We were just $150 shy of the top fundraising team, but I managed to claim the #1 spot as the top individual fundraiser, raising $2,050 – all thanks to your generous donations!!  Plus, not only did I surpass my 2021 fundraising total, but I also walked 115 km in September 2022, which was a few kilometers more than in September 2021.

This year, I have a plan to kick it up a notch and not only surpass the 100 km mark by the end of the month, but also up the ante by pledging to climb what is referred to as Hamilton’s "Mountain Steps".  The “Mountain Steps” are the five sets of stairs that connect the Hamilton communities below the escarpment to the communities on the top.  Altogether, these staircases have 1,568 steps – and my goal is to summit all five sets of stairs this month (maintenance, construction, and/or repairs notwithstanding).
